KC Strategies Honored at “The Oscars of Political Advertising”

KC Strategies has been awarded twenty coveted Pollie Awards by the American Association of Political Consultants. The Pollie Awards (Pollies) are bipartisan honors awarded by the AAPC to members of the political advertising and communications industry who have demonstrated superior work on behalf of their candidates and causes. A blind jury of their peers selects AAPC award winners. Esquire magazine has dubbed the Pollies as “…the Oscars of political advertising.”

In 2022, the firm received Pollies in three categories, including its first win for bilingual advertising on behalf of Pilot Point ISD's 2021 school bond election. The piece entitled "We Are Growing" was honored in the Direct Mail Ballot Initiative category. KC Strategies also took home a regional Pollie for Best TV Ad for a State Legislative Campaign for "Look After Your Neighbors" on behalf of Judge Paul Pape, as well as a regional Pollie for Best Direct Mail for a State Legislative Campaign for "Sheep's Clothing" while working on Mike Monreal's underdog campaign for the Texas House.

The 2021 "virtual" Pollies, held online due to the COVID pandemic, honored KC Strategies in two categories. The firm received a regional Pollie for Best TV Ad for a State Legislative Campaign for "Til the Cows Come Home" on behalf of Lynn Stucky's campaign for Texas House. Also, the firm was recognized for a parody of the Hamilton musical entitled "You'll Be Broke" in opposition to the City of Austin's Proposition A.

In 2020, the firm was awarded a Pollie for Best Television Campaign for the series "This is George" on behalf of George Hindman's campaign for Congress in Texas Congressional District 17.

KC Strategies earned two Pollies in 2018 for creative television ads on behalf of clients, including a statue for the "Compadres" ad series on behalf of State Senator Craig Estes. Additionally, the firm was recognized for a humorous contrast TV spot in the race for Williamson County Judge supporting Frank Leffingwell.

In 2017, KC Strategies received three Pollies for helping Gerald Daugherty overcome a very unfavorable environment to win re-election in his majority-Democratic district in Austin. The AAPC awarded the firm two Gold Pollies, including one for "Best Use of Humor" for Daugherty's viral ad, as well as a Bronze Pollie for overall "Best in Show" for the Daugherty campaign in its entirety.

In 2015, the AAPC awarded its highest honor, a Gold Pollie for "Best in Show", to KC Strategies for its work on the Citizens Against Rail Taxes campaign. C.A.R.T. led the effort to defeat Austin's $1.38 billion light rail bond proposal (Austin Proposition 1) on the November 2014 general election ballot. This was the only ballot initiative campaign so honored in the country for 2014.

In 2013, KC Strategies earned its first Gold Pollie for the "David Lindemood for Judge" television commercial in Midland County.

KC Strategies also received four Pollies for work on Jana Duty’s successful campaign to oust long-time Williamson District Attorney John Bradley during the 2012 Republican Primary election. Included among the awards was a Bronze Pollie for overall “Best in Show", as well as a Silver Pollie for the overall “Best Use of Negative Contrast,” second only to the Republican National Committee in that category.

In the same year, the firm received two Pollies for “Roadblock,” a television commercial produced for Gerald Daugherty’s 2012 general election victory for Travis County Commissioner, and one Pollie for “Dress Up,” a direct mail piece from the 2012 Republican Primary election on behalf of the Randy Plemons for McLennan County Sheriff.
