KC Strategies Recognized for a Political Campaign Ad in "the world's most recognizable international advertising awards."

KC Strategies was honored in September of 2017, along with media and advertising giants such as Leo Burnett, Jones Knowles Ritchie, McCann New York, Turner Entertainment Networks, Google, Netflix, and Twitter, by the Clio Awards in New York for its work during the 2016 election cycle.

The Clio Awards is an annual award program that recognizes innovation and creative excellence in advertising, design and communication, as judged by an international panel of advertising professionals. Time Magazine has described the event as the world's most recognizable international advertising awards.


Emmy Award Winner

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Awards a Regional EMMY to KC Strategies in 2017

Gerald Daugherty's viral 60-second ad "Please Re-Elect Gerald...Please" was awarded a regional EMMY Award in 2017 for Outstanding Achievement for a Single Spot Commercial. The other nominees in the category included the Houston Metro, the Texas Rangers Baseball Club, and the San Antonio FC professional soccer team.

With a production budget of just $7,500, the Daugherty ad became the most-watched local political ad of all time. It received over nine million views, appeared on the YouTube Ad Leaderboard, was translated into more than dozen languages, and was covered by the press on every continent.


Twenty-Time Pollie Award Winner

KC Strategies Honored at “The Oscars of Political Advertising”

KC Strategies has been awarded twenty coveted Pollie Awards by the American Association of Political Consultants. The Pollie Awards (Pollies) are bipartisan honors awarded by the AAPC to members of the political advertising and communications industry who have demonstrated superior work on behalf of their candidates and causes. A blind jury of their peers selects AAPC award winners. Esquire magazine has dubbed the Pollies as “…the Oscars of political advertising.”

In 2022, the firm received Pollies in three categories, including its first win for bilingual advertising on behalf of Pilot Point ISD's 2021 school bond election. The piece entitled "We Are Growing" was honored in the Direct Mail Ballot Initiative category. Twelve-Time Telly Award Winner

The Telly Awards recognized KC Strategies for achievement in television nine years in a row with a dozen statues.

In 2013, the firm was awarded its first Telly for the television spot entitled “Roadblock” from Gerald Daugherty’s successful 2012 campaign for Travis County Commissioner. Irrespective of party affiliation, traffic was the number one issue on the minds of voters when it came to casting their ballots in this race, so the firm’s creative team produced this ad to theatrically remind voters of their traffic woes.

In 2014, KC Strategies received a Telly for the television spot entitled "Prosecutor" from Jana Duty’s successful campaign to oust long-time Williamson District Attorney John Bradley during the 2012 Republican Primary election. It was the introductory ad in the campaign which highlighted her time as County Attorney and it set up the contrast spot in the final week and a half of the campaign.

KC Strategies Honored by Campaigns & Elections Magazine with Reed Awards

KC Strategies was been honored with seven Reed Awards for excellence by Campaigns & Elections Magazine. In 2013, the firm was recognized in the political technology field for its five-minute web video entitled “A Conversation with Jana Duty". In 2014, the robodial "Captain Clean to the Rescue" earned KC Strategies an award for creating a child-turned-superhero character to engage voters in an otherwise low-profile race for the Tarrant Regional Water District Board of Directors. In 2017, the viral ad "Please Re-Elect Gerald...Please" won two Reed Awards - Most Original TV Advertisement and Best TV Ad for a Local, County or Judicial Candidate. In 2020, the series "This is George" won a Reed Award for Best Use of Voice Over Talent in a television commercial. In 2021, the web video "You'll Be Broke", a parody of the Broadway-hit "Hamilton" was recognized for Best Web Video in a Ballot Initiative Campaign. Austin Chapter of the American Advertising Federation Recognizes KC Strategies in 2017 and 2021

Gerald Daugherty's viral ad received another nod from the Austin Ad Federation as a Judge's Choice for achievement in film, video and sound at their 2017 award ceremony. Daugherty's spot was the only political ad honored, and the judge's comments recognized the degree of difficulty political consulting firms face in producing quality ads in spite of limited budgets and resources:

"The performances and writing are great, even if the actors and their performances aren't 'professional.' The knowing glances to the camera from the wife? Priceless. Its infectious humor is a wonderful zag in the world of negative advertising — something that even after the elections still feels fresh. No wonder it went viral. Not an easy task in this day and age, and given the skimpy budget they were no doubt given for this spot."


Finalist and Merit Award Winner at The One Show

The World's Most Prestigious Advertising Awards Show Recognizes KC Strategies

In 2017, KC Strategies received a nod from The One Show which recognizes the world's best creative work in advertising, interactive, design and branded entertainment each year. The firm was a finalist and "Merit Award" winner in the Film category for Best Long Form Single Ad with Gerald Daugherty's "Please Re-Elect Gerald...Please" sixty-second spot. Of the 21,844 entries submitted in 2017, there were 571 finalists representing 38 countries.

The One Show is produced by The One Club which was founded in 1961 as the Advertising Writers Association of New York. In 1969, it became The Copy Club and in 1979, the name changed for the last time to The One Club. In 1973, The One Show was created.

KC Strategies Singled-Out in 2017 by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences

The firm was an honoree in the Advertising, Media, & PR category for Best Video Ad Longform for Gerald Daugherty's 2016 viral sixty-second ad. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), was established in 1996 and is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, Film & Video, Advertising, Media & PR, Mobile Sites & Apps, Social and Podcasts & Digital Audio.

“Honorees like KC Strategies are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. “It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 13,000 entries we received this year.”

AAPC recognizes Kori Crow as one of the 40 best and brightest campaign professionals under 40 years old

In 2017, one of KC Strategies' principals, Kori Crow, was honored by the American Association of Political Consultants as one of the 40 best and brightest campaign professionals under 40 years old.

“We are honored to recognize young achievers and visionaries such as Kori who have already proven their immense talent in the political arena and beyond,” said AAPC President Mark Mellman. “With so much potential, we cannot wait to see what these winners accomplish next, and we are so proud to feature them in the 2017 class of award winners.”

The AAPC recognized the winners of the 40 Under 40 Awards at the 2017 Annual Pollie Awards & Conference on March 14, 2017 in Huntington Beach, California. The Conference brings the leading political professionals in the world together to network and hear from top technology innovators, pollsters, pundits and service providers.

Texas Blazing Star Award Winner

Women's Chamber of Commerce of Texas Honors Kori Crow in 2017

The Women's Chamber of Commerce of Texas announced on August 9th that Kori Crow, co-founder of KC Strategies, has been presented with the prestigious Texas Blazing Star Award for 2017. Finalists were selected by a panel of distinguished judges based on their professional achievement, community leadership, support for the economic advancement of business and professional women, awards and honors and core professional values.

This award recognizes business women who are on the fast track to success, and follow their own, unique path to get there. The coveted awards are given to business owners and professional women in Texas, whose style and drive go above and beyond setting them apart from the crowd.

Only four other women in Texas were so honored in 2017.


Gold Polaris Winner in Europe in 2017

The First Global Competition for the Political Communications and Public Affairs Industries Gives KC Strategies a Nod.

The European Association of Political Consultants (E.A.P.C.) organized the first annual Polaris Awards in 2017 to recognize campaigners, campaign managers, leaders, innovators and exceptional work in the political communications, campaigns and public affairs industries - not just within Europe, but around the globe.

KC Strategies received a Gold Polaris for Best Web Video in a local campaign for the "Please Re-Elect Gerald...Please" viral video of 2016.


Three-Time Golden Eagle Award Winner

Chad Crow Also Named a 2016 "All Star" by the Goldie Peer Choice Awards

KC Strategies has been honored by the Goldie Peer Choice Awards with two "Golden Eagle" awards for it's work on the Citizens Against Rail Taxes campaign. C.A.R.T. led the effort to defeat Austin's $1.38 billion light rail bond proposal (Austin Proposition 1) on the November 2014 general election ballot.

The first award was for "Overall Campaign Excellence" in the ballot initiative category for a series of television ads, and the second was an individual special category for "Use of Humor Excellence."

Chad Crow Named Republican Campaign Manager of the Year

Chad Crow, one of KC Strategies principals, was honored in 2013 by the American Association of Political Consultants with a Campaign Excellence Award for Local Campaign Manager of the Year for his work on Jana Duty's successful campaign for Williamson County District Attorney.

The Campaign Excellence Awards are a longstanding tradition of the AAPC and recognize those that have significantly contributed to the success of a candidate or public affairs campaign and whose conduct has been consistent with the professional code of ethics of the AAPC.

In 2013, the AAPC received received 135 nominations in 15 categories from the AAPC membership and political consulting community at large. Each nomination was vetted by an Independent Panel of Judges and recommendations were voted upon and confirmed by the AAPC Board of Directors.
